MAKITA DA3011F 240v Angle drill – 10mm keyless chuck

An introduction to angle drillsAngle drills are used for drilling holes in wood, metal or plastics in tight or confined spaces. Most angle drills have a fixed 90 degree angled head although a variable head position tool is available. Angle drills have come into their own since electrical regulations required electrical wires to run through holes in the joists rather rather notching holes in the top of joists, so much so, they are sometimes called joist drills.

To choose between angle drills: The key consideration when selecting between angle drills is the maximum drilling diameter required. 10mm refers to maximum drilling diameter in steel, you can use a larger drill bit for plastic & wood providing it has a 10mm or smaller diameter shank to fit the chuck. A keyless chuck is tightened by hand.

Additionally there is often a choice between single or 2 speed gears. Most angle drills have a variable speed function.
